Inspiration of the Youth Camp

The message and concept of our youth summer camps is a simple one. These camps are designed to bring out the love and enjoyment of the game and provide all players with a fun environment surrounded with games, competitions, and excitement.

It is also the intent of this camp to involve coaches and players from all clubs and communities in a show of UNITY that puts the kids experience and enjoyment first. Many times, an affiliation with a club or a community creates fear with attending certain camps. That is the exact opposite of our desire. We want everyone to work together in this show of UNITY in the summer giving the kids the most enjoyable experience possible and allowing the players to play with and be coached by representatives from all over the surrounding area.

As a youth player I remember most looking forward to the camps that provided a lot of different games and competitions that kept me looking forward to what the next day may bring.

As a Director of Coaching at the youth level I spend most of the year really pushing players abilities to develop and learn skills and training in a very high intensity environment. As a youth director, and coaching at the high school and collegiate levels, I found there to be a void when looking for summer camps that brought out the pure fun and excitement that I looked for as a kid falling in love with the game of soccer.

This camp is designed to get back to the grass roots enjoyment of the game in every aspect. There are many great camps out there that push skill development and continue that high pressure environment that many kids already experience for the majority of the year. This camp is a release from all of that pressure and focused on the purity of the game. Goal scoring competitions, obstacle courses, goalie wars, and many different games are featured throughout the camp every evening.

When I began this camp concept several years ago at Walsh University it was a huge success and went from 35 players the first year to close to 150 by the third year based on word of mouth and the great experience players had attending the camp. Unity Soccer Camps builds on that concept and looks forward to working with many different communities to give their players the best possible experience at our camp. This camp is for the kids, and FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME!

Sincerely,

Damien Marchione
